I hope the weather is cooperating for you this memorial
weekend, we are seeing gray skies and even rain but it is ok since I am not
ready for the 105 degree summers yet. Please be safe this weekend and also take
a moment to remember why we have this holiday and if you have access to a
veteran say thank you. I know my veteran would appreciate it.
Now I was in a crafting mood but did not feel like sewing
today since I have been finishing up the father’s day quilt so the red, white
and blue apron had to wait… good thing American pride is always in style! So I
went to my key rack and decided it was time for a change. I was just sick of it.
So I took:
Scrapbook paper
Mod podge
Box bottom
Chalkboard paint
Cup hooks
Stickers
Chalk
Canvas
Since I already did the other one I just covered it but it was the same
thing I attached the new scrapbook paper with modpodge, then glazed it.
I put the hooks in the bottom of the canvas and added
stickers to say Keys.
What I decided to add was a chalkboard since I had this
chalk paint and have not used it yet! That really needed to change! I followed
the directions on the paint but added 3 coats instead of 2 just to be sure.
I knew I needed somewhere to put the chalk so I found a
bottom of a gift box that was leftover from Christmas and hot glued it to the
board for the chalk.
So now I have a key rack and message center! I like how it
turned out this time, not that I didn’t like it last time but the handwriting
of the Keys got messed up so it was bugging me greatly. And plus the key paper
is just so cute!
Well I hope you have a fabulous weekend, I am off to the
Sacramento County Fair! :]
